Wordontheshore.com says the Eatontown, New Jersey borough council is looking for more info before approving a digital billboard along Route 35. Klein Outdoor Advertising has proposed a 10.5′ by 36′ sign. The New Jersey State Department of Transportation has already issued a permit.
Insider’s take: The Borough Council wants a 1 minute flip. An 8 second flip is normal for digital billboards. Not sure how Klein Outdoor recovers the costs of a digital billboard with a 60 second flip. Perhaps Klein can explain some of the advantages of having a shorter flip (including more public service ads) at the April 26 Council hearing on the sign.
