Ever parked your car in a precarious spot on a busy freeway to take sign pictures? There’s a better way: drones. Insider is aware of several out of home companies who are using drones to take sign pictures.
An employee at digital billboard manufacturer Formetco has a commercial drone pilots license. Formetco uses drones to photograph installations and completed signs. The pictures which accompany this article were taken by Formetco’s drone.
Sha Outdoor paid a consultant to take aerial approach photos of the company’s signs. The company plans to add the drone originated video on its website.
Kevin Joyce of Joyce Outdoor used drones to obtain high resolution photos of a large wallscape: “We needed a close-up of the condition of the brick & mortar, to see if it would be safe to anchor onto the wall, for not only the sign, but for the installers to repel down. It was incredibly helpful and gave us great perspective that otherwise would have been expensive with an on-site inspection by installers.”
There are lots consultants who can generate video of your signs using drones. Here’s a video of a Destin, Florida billboard originated by Land Air Sea Productions.
