Deanna Berry on the McWhorter Acquisition

Deanna Berry

With the news of McWhorter Media’s acquisition with checked in with Deanna Berry, McWhorter Media Groups Chief Operating Officer.

Your first acquisition, on re-entering the market, was in Pennsylvania.  I understand you have purchased assets in Virginia?

That is correct, John.  We are excited to be entering the Virginia market.

The assets came from Legends Outdoor.  Does your purchase include all their structures? Any of the Legends team staying on?

We purchased all of their Virginia assets, which included twelve structures – eleven in Augusta County and one in Prince George County. They still own one remaining structure in Delaware that was not part of the acquisition.

Fortunately, Steve Snyder will continue to work with us in a sales and management capacity – much like Kevin Dail has done since the Statler acquisition.  Steve has done an exceptional job building and selling out that inventory, and we are excited to collaborate with him to further expand the market.

Can you provide us some details on the assets you purchased?

As mentioned earlier, we acquired a total of twelve structures with eight digital faces and fifteen static faces, resulting in a total of 79 ad spaces. All of the structures were built by Selective Structures, and the digital faces are exclusively from Formetco. Following the Statler purchase last September, we now have a total of 141 ad spaces.

I am assuming you will continue to be active in the market?

Absolutely. Similar to our approach in Pennsylvania, we will be actively seeking out new locations and conversion opportunities to strategically broaden our presence there
