Premiere/Art Outdoor is a family owned firm which operates a 216 face out of home plant in the following markets: Missoula, Great Falls, Helena and Bozeman.  The company was formed in 1990 by Bob Clyde.  His son Matt Clyde bought the firm in 2009.  Billboard Insider talked with Matt Clyde.

How did you get involved in the out of home business?

We have been a family owned and operated business for nearly 30 years now.  Premiere was started by my Dad in 1992 with just a few billboards near our home town of St. Regis, Montana.  He grew the company to about 70 faces when I bought him out in 2009.

What’s new in the past year?

Premiere and Art are now up to 216 faces throughout Montana.  No digitals but we secured 16 new billboard faces in the past year which is more than we have done in the last 10 years combined.  Pretty tough to do in Montana these days.

We are at 100% occupancy and have not been below 95% occupancy for over 10 years.

My oldest son who just turned 19 is working for me full time now, first Employee I’ve ever had😊  I’ve run the company completely solo for a number of years now but with 216 faces, it’s a lot to run the entire company myself.

Really enjoy having someone to work with  now so its been great teaching my son the nature of the billboard business.  Both of my sons have shown a lot of interest in owning this company some day so good to start learning it early!
