Marquee Media operates high profile billboard plant with 54 total faces including 32 digital displays in California.  The company is co-owned by Jeff Joaquin and Michael Wagener.  In December 2022 Marquee sold 11 digital displays and 6 static bulletins in Sacramento to Lamar Advertising.

Insider talked with Marquee President and co-founder Jeff Joaquin whose out of home experience includes stints with Clear Channel Outdoor in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco, Patrick Media, Eller Media and Westfield.

How did you get into the out of home advertising business Jeff?

I started in the Real Estate department at Foster & Kleiser in 1984 out of college, and thought I’d only stay to build a resume.   Thirty eight years later I’m still in the out of home business and have fulfilled a dream I’ve had since Karl Eller bought the company I was working for ( Patrick Media Group ) in 1995 and that was to eventually own my own billboard company. Little did I know then, that it would take me back to where it all started for me, in Sacramento and partnering with the Sacramento Kings.
