Lindmark Companies was founded by Trent Lindmark, who has been involved in the billboard industry since 1993. He started from the ground up by constructing billboards and painting advertisements before the rise of modern vinyl ads. Lindmark Billboards, is now boasting over 7,400 billboard faces.
Trent and Insider had a call to discuss the business and the timing was perfect as he had some news to share.
Trent, what is your news?
We just sold 38 structures to Whistler in the Tulsa area. I believe Whistler will be able to do better with those assets than we did. We are actively pursuing several opportunities right now and hope to close a few of those deals by Q2 or Q3.

Last time we checked in, Lindmark Outdoor was operating in six states and was ranked ninth in North America with 7,365 faces. Any update on that information?
We are always growing. Our goal is to build 100 new structures each year, and we are continually looking for acquisition opportunities that fit our markets and long-term strategy.
How has the economy been throughout the South? There has been a lot of migration into many of those states.
We’ve continued to see strong migration of both businesses and people into many of the Southern markets we operate in. That growth has translated into increased demand for advertising. Last year, we saw approximately a 5% increase in same-board sales compared to the previous year.
Would you share a little about your growth philosophy for 2026?
Our philosophy has always been to grow strategically—both by building new structures and by acquiring quality assets in markets where we already operate. Typically, new builds provide a better ROI than acquisitions, so by blending the two approaches we’re able to achieve the overall return profile we’re targeting.
We’ve also found that funding new builds with cash and using debt for acquisitions works best for us from a capital allocation standpoint.
Lindmark Companies also includes Printing and Construction. I assume you might be the biggest customer, but how has business development gone with other billboard companies?
With the Steel Company, Lindmark Billboards represents about 50% of the business. On the Ink side, we represent only 10% of the business, with the remaining work coming from other billboard operators and customers across the industry.
