April 16, 2024. Billboard Insider has learned that about a month ago, Lightbox closed its doors and shut down. Most of the assets were assumed by the real estate owners – Simon, Brookfeild, Macerich, CBL being the largest – with most of these partners bringing the screen back into the ecosystem.

Lightbox operated a network of 4,000 digital screens at 300 in 75 DMA’s  across the US.  .
