The Company was founded in May 1995 by Jim Landrigan after spending 18 years working in the outdoor advertising business. Jim, how did you happen to enter the outdoor business?
I started in the outdoor advertising business in 1977 with Creative Displays in Allentown, Pa. I then worked for Penn Advertising when they bought the Reading market from Creative where I was working as the sales manager. I started my company in 1995 when I purchased 9 structures in Reading, Pa. from Randy Fishel who operated as Mid-State Outdoor .
Tell us a little about your plant.
My plant is relatively young with all structures under 22 years old. Every face is illuminated. I purchased my first digital display in 2008. Digital advertising now represents 33% of my companies revenues. Poster panels are still the most popular product we offer along with digitals. Since digital displays have become dominant in the industry Bulletin and Tri-Vision sales have suffered a bit.
Who’s digital signs do you use and what have you learned?
I use Watchfire and Formetco Digital displays. I have mound both companies to be very professional and their proucts are the best in the market. They are also very committed to customer service.
Have you been retrofitting your lights?
I have switched some of my lights to the newer high efficiency LED lights. They are brighter than the older LED lights and are as cost efficient.
