How did you get into the out of home business?

A major fast food chain was coming to my hometown the same year I was starting to build a house.  I had an idea of building a billboard on family land to help make my new house payment.  I met with the managers of the chain to show them my location and proposal.  Not only did they accept my proposal on the spot, they asked if I wanted to do advertising for them on all roads coming into town.  So, I went from building one face to 5 structures in one short meeting!  Jarman Outdoor Advertising was born on that day.

Tell us about your plant.

I went to work as an administrative manager for a textile company straight out of college.  As mentioned above, I stumbled into the OOH industry almost by accident after meeting with the managers of a fast food chain in my hometown.  Once I completed construction of the first 5 structures, I continued building a few structures each year while still working in textiles.  I continued to work in textiles until 2016, when I decided to put all my time in OOH.  I currently have faces in many eastern NC counties.  I enjoy working directly with my customers and landowners as I treat them the way I would want to be treated.  I take pride in my plant as it has become a piece of the community I live in.

What’s new in the past year?

We had an outstanding year, maintaining near-100% occupancy across our existing structures for the entire period. Without adding any new inventory, we maximized the value of our current portfolio in a competitive market. This consistent high demand from advertisers—both returning clients and new ones—underscores the strength of our locations, reliable service, and the enduring effectiveness of well-placed billboards.
How about plans for 2026?
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re in a strong position to build on this momentum. With sustained advertiser interest and positive industry trends, we have plans underway to add a few new structures in strategic, high-traffic areas. These additions will expand our reach while preserving the quality and performance our clients have come to expect.

Do you have any digitals?

We do not have any digital structures yet but are always looking for locations that could support one.
