Giesken Outdoor Advertising operates a billboard plant with a trivision and a digital billboard in Sidney, Ohio. Tom Giesken is the company’s owner.  Giesken is an operator associate in the IBOUSA. In December 2021 Giesken sold most of his plant to Huntington billboards.

What’s new over the past year?  

Tommy G (my nickname in NW Ohio) has been slowing down in the OOH biz but haven’t stopped overall. I still have 2 very premier structures on I-75 in the Dayton DMA.  As many of you know I started a coffee shop called Well Grounded Café that has become the local hangout and has gone gangbusters. My wife, Patty, runs the day to day now but I bought the best corner in the county(thanks to billboard $$) and turned a pigs ear into a velvet pillow by being the general contractor on it. I also have a couple property holding companies that require some attention from time to time. And I am the President of a local Christian school called Ottawa-Glandorf Lifewise Academy. It is a national phenomenon taking off all over the country. I am acting as the general contractor for both the Ottawa and Glandorf building projects to save money. And, if that isn’t enough we are finalizing our plans to build a new shouse(cross between a shed and a house) since we sold our house to our daughter a year and a half ago and will be starting that pretty soon. Once the dust clears on these projects I will probably do consulting work and acquire leases and permits for locations and either sell to the higher bidder or hitch my wagon to a company and do it for them at an agreed compensation.

Yes. These 2 very premier structures I have on I-75 in the Dayton DMA need mostly regional and national accounts to go with a few local larger business ads. I have put an advertisement on Billboard Insider and have gotten a good response with 3 good options which I will be finalizing early next week.
