Dynamic outdoor media operates a billboard plant with 256 total faces including 20 digital faces in Texas. Dynamic is a sister company to Choice Outdoor which is located in Waco Texas. Dynamic Outdoor Media was started in October 2016 and is owned by Ty and Shanna Jones. Billboard Insider talked with Ty Jones the company’s owner.
What’s new at the company over the past year?
We have experienced a lot of growth this year and have built several new boards over the past few months. We are moving most of our billboard companies that are family owned under one management umbrella to help them be more efficient and better utilize the synergies that naturally exist between them. This reorganization will help us as we continue to grow and will allow the owners to work on their respective businesses and not as much in their business’s day to day operations. We will now have a single GM(Felipe Mora), Operations(Kent Hilton), and Sales manager(Keith Richardson) overseeing several of the family companies, with Dynamic Outdoor Media, Choice Dynamic Media, and Village Agape Management operating under the Choice Media Brand.
Whose digital billboards are you using and what have you learned?
Recently we have built 4 new digitals and have elected to use the new technology, eQVision, offered by Media Resources. Their new design is expected to shield the led’s from the uv degradation resulting in 20-40% longer life expectancy and are also some of the most energy efficient boards we have seen to date. This is such a huge factor in calculating the total cost of a digital billboard. In addition, we had a problem with an older model Media Resources board and Jeff Rushton really used it to show the character of the company through a generous solution in making it right and we have never forgotten that. We have used almost all the large players in this field, and all are professional and top notch, including Watchfire, Daktronics, and Formetco. These new additions will give Dynamic 18 digitals, Choice Dynamic Media 6 digitals, and Village Agape Management 2 digitals in addition to the 23 digitals that Choice Media operates.
What are some of your objectives for the coming year?
We will really be focused on the integration of the new management team and helping them be successful. A priority will also be strengthening our sales team along with strong organic growth and hopefully some strategic acquisitions.
