Tell us about your plant.
Our team consists of an office manager, two sales women, and two ad installers. We have billboard sizes ranging from 9’ X 17’ to 12’ X 48’. Most of our structures are in the Grand Valley but we do have three structures in Gunnison, CO that my dad, Mark Gamble, acquired during his college days.
What’s the Grand Junction outdoor market like?
Most of our clients are local however we do have some national buys. Our most popular option is a 1 year rotary. A rotary allows the customer to get full coverage by moving throughout the market to a different location approximately every 30 days.
You’re in the bus bench and shelter business in addition to the billboard business. How is the bus bench and shelter business different from the billboard business?
We have 120 benches and 80 shelters in the Grand Junction market. We primarily sell in packages of 10 or more because we believe that is the best way to penetrate the market. There are some areas of town where we are not allowed to have billboards but we are able to have bus benches and shelters. This allows us to insure that we can reach all major traffic arteries.
You operate a trivision in an area with cold freezing winters. Have you ever had the trivision freeze up?
We only have one trivision left in our market at this time. We have experienced issues with the gears freezing, not allowing the slats to rotate properly. At this point we plan on phasing out the trivision and expanding our digital market.
