Choice Media operates a billboard plant in Texas.  Brad and Kristie Tooley formed the company in 1992 by buying a half dozen empty billboard faces with proceeds from the sale of a rental house.    Today Choice Media is one of the largest independent, family operated billboard companies in Texas with more than 100 billboard faces .  The company’s markets include Amarillo, Wichita Falls, Abilene, San Angelo, Midland-Odessa, Lubbock, Waco and Clovis, New Mexico.  Choice Media is an operator associate in the IBOUSA.  Billboard Insider talked with Choice Media President/CEO Brad Tooley.

How did covid impact your company?

Covid was really tough on our business in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2020. Since then our sales have been up every quarter and 2021 has been by far our strongest year.

You bought the billboard company Signly in 2019.  Are you using the technology in your company or do you have any plans to license it to others?

We love using Signly for our billboard presentations. That’s why we purchased the company in 2019. We have a handful of other billboard companies that use this simple software to manager their billboard inventory and make professional presentations. We have been negligent in marketing this software to others, but would love to demo it to other companies that might benefit as well.  Contact Kent Hilton, kent@choicemediatx.com to learn more.

What are some of your objectives for the coming year.

With about 1,000 traditional billboard faces and 40-plus digitals, we have a billboard addiction. So we’ll probably continue to build and acquire outdoor inventory as it fits our footprint.

Billboards run in this family. Left to right: Ty and Shanna (Tooley) Jones, Choice Media and Dynamic Media; Kris Tooley and Brooke Tooley (Choice Media and Swift Outdoor); Brad Tooley and Kristie Tooley, Choice Media.
