Randy, how did you enter the out of home business?

I entered the business by partnering with former Dallas Cowboy football player, Mike Gaechter.  We developed over 400 faces in Albuquerque and Amarillo.  Gaechter bought me out and I started my own company in 1988.  I went on to develop assets in numerous cities including: Amarillo, Lubbock, San Angelo, Waco, San Marcos, Harlingen, Mcallen, El Paso, Wichita Falls, Midland, Odessa, Killeen, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Laughlin, Flagstaff, Atlantic City, Richmond, San Juan PR, Kansas City and Branson.  After selling these assets and once my non compete expired, I got back in the business.
Tell us about your plant.
My current plant is primarily in Amarillo where I have around 110 static faces and nine 14’x48′ digital faces.
Whose digital faces do you use and what have you learned?
I started out with Watchfire 19mm units and have stayed with them to keep things simple.  They have a good well priced product with simple software.
Have supply chain shortages had any impact on your company?
Yes they have especially on pricing.  Steel prices skyrocketed causing structure cost to increase.  Digital faces are taking a bit longer to get as well.
What are some of your objectives for the coming year?
My occupancy is very high due to the long term relationships I have in this city.  I may try and convert a couple more units from static to digital.  With a shut ordinance it is hard to expand with new locations.

I as well as many others will have our eye on the Supreme Court ruling Reagan vs the City of Austin.  Hopefully that might present some opportunities in cities around Texas that currently have closed sign ordinances.  Other than that, manage what I have and spend more time with the grandkids.
