Burelz Billboards is based in Memphis with many centrally located boards in Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi with different choices, such as stagnant, tri-vision, and digital. David Buring started his first outdoor company in 1992 and Insider caught up with David to talk about the business.
How many and what type of structures do you have between your two companies?
We now have 168 faces and 12 are digital. Our areas of operation are Memphis, Nashville and Jackson, Tennessee, North Mississippi and the Jasper, Alabama area.
Are you continuing to manage billboards for other owners?
We are not managing other boards anymore as they were sold.
Do you have a preference in a digital manufacturer?
I have had great luck with Watchfire and that’s who I’m sticking with. I know there are several other really good manufactures out there but the service I’ve gotten from Watchfire has been excellent.
Have you spent much time trying top develop programmatic opportunities with your digital faces?
I haven’t dove in yet to the programmatic. I hear all the reasons why people like it but right now we’re just doing our own selling.
