The Mohave Valley Daily News reports that the Bullhead City Arizona city council approved a Lamar proposal for a digital billboard on the west side of Highway 95 between Riverview Drive and North Oatman Road.
Lamar will:
- Remove a static billboard near Riviera Boulevard and Plaza Drive
- Pay the city $10,000/year in rent.
- Provide one 8 second flip per minute on one digital billboard face for local emergency messages.
- Construct an aesthetically pleasing brick display.
The Bullhead City billboard was made possible by a February 2017 state law which opened up parts of northwest Arizona to digital billboards.
Insider’s take: A win-win-win decision. The city gets an old billboard taken down, a flip for public services and money to fund critical public services. Lamar generates more revenue. Local businesses get an opportunity to raise their profile in Bullhead City.
