Bird Gel Keeps Birds Off Billboards

Earlier this week Insider wrote about how to keep pigeons off billboards.

Lou Heller of Momentum Properties uses Bird-B-Gone’s Bird Gel:

I have had success using Bird-B-Gone’s “Bird Gel”– a sticky, transparent caulk applied to surface. First application was about four months ago and, so far, seems to be deterring pigeons and birds from landing/nesting. I plan to do a second application in a few months just to be sure.

Lou, how did you hear about Bird-B-Gone Gel?

I believe my installer mentioned it and I researched the internet.  Spoke with the company directly and they were very helpful.

What did the treatment cost?

In addition to the cost of the gel ($115 for a case of 12 tubes), my installer charged $600 to apple twelve tubes on a 14 by 48 double faced monopole structure. A bit pricey, but seems to have solved the problem, so far.  Fortunately it is not harmful to birds – just sticky feet !

Thanks for the tip Lou!

Here’s a video about the product.

The Bird-B Gone site features lots of bird control options including stainless steel bird spikes, a bird jolt flat track, mesh, a bird spider and transparent bird gel.

Todd McCoy of Logan Outdoor likes the bird spikes:

We use bird spikes from a company called Bird-B-Gone, Inc. on all our digital locations to keep birds from landing and nesting. They work great and we have had no issues on any of our digital units since we started using them.
