Yesterday we asked our readers how much time they want to remove a billboard after a billboard lease terminates. 42% of our readers want their leases to say 60-90 days. 80% of our readers want their leases to say more than 30 days.

An upper-midwest out of home exec says weather can be an issue in sign removal
We have our lease language not specifying what the time is, just that its a reasonable time, we have some sites that you can’t access unless the ground is frozen, so a lease expiring in June cant be removed till January in that case. It also lets us have some wiggle room to get a new site, set a pole, have it set up, and just pick the head up and move it together and fly it at its new site. Never have any advertising down then! In general though we try to shoot for 30 days or less if we can get to the site.
