Beware Docusign Fraud

Lots of out of home companies are using Docusign to electronically sign ad contracts and billboard leases.  The fraudsters have figured this out.  Look at this screenshot of a fraudulent email Billboard Insider received yesterday.

The fraud only becomes apparent if you right click on the DocuSend header.  You get an address in Japan.

Billboard Insider’s take: If you use docusign,  never open a document to sign or review unless the sender is someone you know and trust and never open anything you weren’t expecting  When in doubt phone or directly email the person you know to ask if they sent something to you to sign or review.  Also, invest in antivirus software and conduct a full system scam once a week.  You can’t be too careful.

  1. I’ve been getting a number of these lately. Fortunately, after looking into the first one and seeing it was a scam I have been able to quickly review and delete each one.
