Becky Smith on the IBO’s growth and why you need to join Speedway

Here’s an excerpt from last  Thursday’s Increasing Revenue in 2024 Seminar which was put on by the IBOUSA.  Becky Smith, the IBO’s Enterprise Manager lead off the seminar.

On the IBO’s growth

Four years ago these are the stats for IBO in March of 2020…

There were 170 operator companies with 50,000 faces spanning across 125 DMA’s and then COVID hit and we were in those unprecedented times and many were fearful of the impact that this is going to have on their livelihood and this caused all of us to shift at IBO we wanted to find additional revenue for our operators but to do that we really needed to be acknowledged in the industry we needed others to look at us kind of the way we look at the big three the Billboard…let’s Fast forward to today

 

…our IBO Speedway has gained life we’ve doubled our face count as well as our membership…Here’s a prepared by Billboard Insider of US out of home companies ranked by faces…collectively IBO should be #2. We’ve made it in our face count…

 

What Speedway is and why it’s important to independent out of home companies

IBO has functioned for the last years as a Co-op.   We have a specific need and that need is to bring more buys to the independents…to achieve this we work together it’s odd because we’re competitors but we also cooperate but we need you to participate…If you’ve never heard of the IBO Speedway you need to reach out to me (becky@ibousa.org) so we can get your inventory on the Speedway.  The Speedway is just simply an inventory database…to…help make it easy for agencies to buy us.  We collect and protect your inventory so we can bundle up bundle it up and sell it as one just like the big three.   Right now we have 67 thousand faces on there so we’re missing a few of the faces if you’re not on the Speedway please reach out to get on there.  Terry Carmody and his crew at Integration Media have been utilizing the Speedway for years for their national campaigns. Terry and team to a terrific job at placing national business with operators who might have been overlooked…
