Autonomous Power Has Solar Powered Digital Display

Autonomous Power has developed a solar powered digital display.  Billboard Insider talked with Kevin Conlin about the product.

What’s new in solar?

Our first solar powered digital display. On Earth Day we introduced a new product called SUN-PAK. Essentially, it’s a totally silent, solar replacement for a gas generator. The SUN-PAK can provide 120V power for any application typically requiring a generator. Additionally, it can simultaneously power digital displays or light boxes on one or both sides.

How does it work?

Very Quietly. It has two large 550W solar panels that flip up while charging a big lithium battery with a 3000W inverter inside. With the solar modules stowed, it resembles the monolith from the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey. With the modules deployed, it creates a two-sided blank canvas for advertising, directional signage, and even an interactive display.

What does it cost?

About $20K for a basic model, with generous tax credits. We think leasing makes the most sense from a cash flow standpoint. The SUN-PAK is offered with flexible financing backed by a 5-year warranty.

What are the unique, key features?

  • Silent, clean and eco-friendly – no noise, fumes or gas cans
  • Eye catching design doubles as an art piece or branded feature
  • Sponsors love the built-in ad space
  • Setup is quick and easy
  • Battery lasts all weekend-even in the rain

Sounds promising, one last question: How have the tariffs affected the solar business?

No impact yet, the biggest hit will be on the batteries, as they are the single most expensive component, and come from China. The solar module supply chain is more diverse, in fact, the solar modules used in the SUN-PAK can be sourced here in the US.

The SUN-PAK offers advertisers a new OOH platform powered by clean energy, and we are actively seeking strategic partners and early investors to help drive our expansion.  For more information, please go to www.powerhouse.energy
