The Oklahoman reports that Matt Hinkle, General Manager of Tyler Outdoor based in Oklahoma City is the newly elected city council representative representing Ward 5 in South Oklahoma City.

In Tuesday’s runoff election Hinkle came out on top, barely, capturing  50.48% of the vote, beating fellow south sider Thuan Nguyen.

This was not Matt’s first time running for office as he has also served on the Oklahoma City Planning Commission since 2017.

Matt also has spent over 15 years as a South Oklahoma City Chamber Member, where he served as Chairman and was awarded Volunteer of the Year and Citizen of the Year for the South Oklahoma City Chamber .

Hinkle said that his top priorities will be protecting public safety, investing and maintaining roads and infrastructure and creating an environment where families can thrive.
