Back in December 2019, Adams was considering legal remedies from the Towns’ denial of permits for six digital structures. Instead, Adams proposed that f the Town granted approval of four new digital and the conversion of one existing static site, they would not pursue litigation. The Town refused the proposal so Adams filed a lawsuit in October of this year. You can read the lawsuit at this link. The Town filed its response in December.
Adams is asserting, among other claims, that the Town’s sign ordinance violates the US Constitution, including but not limited to the First and Fourteenth Amendments, along with the South Carolina Constitution. In their response, the Town “denies this claim and will defend this case in court.”
