Maloney Outdoor is a family owned local billboard company serving Louisville Kentucky and Southern Indiana including New Albany, Clarksville, Jeffersonville, Floyd County and Clark County.  The company’s products include Expressway Bulletins, Billboards on Major Roads in Louisville and Southern Indiana and Vinyl Squares and Jr Billboards in Metro Louisville.  Maloney Outdoor specializes in personalized customer service and quick turnaround times.  Insider talked with the owner, Peter Maloney who established the company in 1986. 

How did you Maloney enter the outdoor advertising business?

In the early 80s when interest rates hit 18-20% I was in industrial sales.  My sister told me about a job opening at Naegele Outdoor Advertising.  I worked there in sales for about five years.  Then, I started out on my own and created Maloney Outdoor Advertising.

 What’s the Louisville outdoor market like?

Louisville is a dynamic market for outdoor.  We have a thriving diverse community of small businesses in the market as well as major industries like the bourbon distilleries and the UPS World Hub.  Louisville is most well known for The Kentucky Derby held each May at Churchill Downs.  The Derby brings millions of visitors to Louisville each year.

 Do you have any digital signs?  

We don’t have any digital signs. We are currently focused on static billboards since they provide 24/7 exposure for our clients.
