Lucit Focused on Real Estate and Retail

Eric Kubischta, CTO, Lucit

Lucit sends big-ticket inventory from realtors, auto dealers, ag dealers and recreational dealers directly to digital billboards in real time.  Billboard Insider talked with Lucit’s CTO Eric Kubiwschta.

How did Covid impact your business.

We essentially began building our product a few months before Covid hit.   Our initial target was Automotive and that was the majority of our focus, however, this was a big impact for us because the automotive industry was (and still is) historically low on inventory – Our product focuses on inventory promotion, so, this was pretty tough for us.

However, the bright side was this: – It gave us a lot of time to focus on product development, engineering,  research, and the ability to expand into other verticals.   We are heavily focused on real-estate right now (which is hot) and we have features for retail stores and other non-inventory related clients.

What trends are you seeing in the Out of Home market?

Jamie Thrasher, Lucit Operations Manager

Our view of trends in the market is going to be pretty focused.   I think I would say that what we are seeing, and what is going to be a long-term trend is accessibility to a larger group of buyers and new kinds of buyers.  Words like programmatic get used a lot, and I think a lot of the focus is sort of on national ad-buys, but, in addition to that, programmatic will also be is creating mechanisms for new types of buyers.   Buyers with tiny budgets, buyers who only want to buy next Friday between 1pm and 4pm.   New customers who have never bought OOH before will have tools that help them spend their dollars in new ways.

Technologies from lots of companies in this space will drive this forward over the next few years.

You’ve been adding people?

We just added 2 employees to our team in the past few weeks and 1 more starts next week.  Jamie Thrasher is our new operations manager.  She’ll handle accounting and human resources and will assist with product support, internal controls and sales support. We currently have 2 additional open positions we are going to try to fill as soon as we can.
