Innovative Billboards is a Michigan company which is developing a 14 X 48 scrolling billboard which can triple revenue & profit. The primary application is to upgrade static boards but it is ideal in areas which prohibit digital billboards. The company is looking to commence production in early 2021. The company plans to sell their billboards for ~ 1/3 the cost of digital billboards. Paul Angott is President. Insider talked to Brian Barriger, one of the company’s investors.
Why did you develop this product?
The primary reason is to address 96% of the market currently occupied by the static billboard segment, whereby owners can increase their current site revenues dramatically by switching our billboard that can scroll up to 12 ads in any market segment – small, medium or large with fast payback.. Our intention is to not compete with the 4% LED market, but make a market in that 96% Static space.
Here’s a link to a video on the product.

When they reached out to me around a year ago to be a potential investor I had quite a few questions they were unable to answer.
What is the production cost?
What is the timing of repair?
Wind resistant bracings were not suitable for rural areas or high impact wind area(s) at the time
They mention that, “It will come fully assembled, tested, and easily mounts to an existing billboard pole for immediate use.” I’m unsure how that is possible as this will increase the weight load dramatically which will increase cost. You will need each structure reengineered.
What is the production cost?
We now have it costed but we do not want to share cost with competition. If you sign an nda, we will provide this.
What is the timing of repair?
Very fast. However, everything is designed to last 10 years with no maintenance.

Weight is ~ 9000 pounds but the front is very strong to handle high winds.
The scrolling part would go against many municipalities regulations where their language specifically states no scrolling, animation, fading, etc…
How do you plan on overcoming that language?
