Maryland May Outlaw Cannibas Billboards

Biz Journals reports The Maryland Medical Cannabis commission is considering measures to prohibit cannabis-related businesses form advertising on radio, TV or billboards.  There are 14 growers, 15 processors, 5 testing labs and 69 dispensaries licensed to operate in Maryland and many are buying billboards.  The Commission will vote on a proposal Friday. Here’s the proposed rule:

Insider’s take:  Most states and municipalities regulate the content of cannabis ads, require disclaimers and prohibit ads in the vicinity of schools or parks.  Many municipalities forbid cannabis advertising on buses.  Insider wonders why Maryland legalized cannabis if it is going to forbid advertising.
