Lamar outperformed the S&P 500 during the fourth quarter of 2017.  Clear Channel Outdoor and Outfront underperformed the S&P 500 during the fourth quarter of 2017.  Here are the actual numbers.

• Lamar up 8.74% during the fourth quarter of 2017.
• S&P 500 up 5.71% during the fourth quarter of 2017.
• Clear Channel Outdoor up 4.44% during the fourth quarter of 2017.
• Outfront down 4.83% during the fourth quarter of 2017.

The three us out of home companies trailed the S&P for the full year 2017.

• S&P up 18.4% for the year.
• Lamar up 7.96% for the year.
• Clear Channel Outdoor down 5.05% for the year.
• Outfront down 8.49% for the year.

Insider’s take:  We need to see an improvement in revenue for the US out of home companies to out-perform the market.  US out of home revenues have been trailing the US GDP as you can see in the chart below.
