Activist Sues To Stop Detroit Wallscapes

Activist Robert Davis has filed a lawsuit to stop wallscapes in Detroit.  The suit alleges that hundreds of wallscapes within Detroit are illegal.  You can watch a 3 minute news report on the lawsuit on the ClickOnDetroit Website.   The Detroit Free Press says Davis has filed more than 100 lawsuits over the past decade.

Insider’s take:  Wallscapes liven up a downtown landscape and generate income for local landlords and allow businesses to tell their story.  Detroit needs money for critical urban services.  Why not license wallscapes and charge a fee which can help pay for critical urban services?
