Can you name the third largest US Out of Home advertiser?

The top three 2025 US out of home advertisers were Apple, Morgan and Morgan…and Vivint???  Here’s what you need to know about the third largest US out of home advertiser.

Vivint

Vivint makes smart home security, energy management and automation systems. Vivint was acquired by NRG Energy for $2.6 billion in 2023.  Vivint has 2 million smart home customers.  Here’s what NRG’s 2025 10k says about the Vivint business.

Vivint Smart Home is a leading smart home platform that provides customers with technology, products and services to create a smarter and safer home. A smart home has multiple devices integrated into a single expandable platform that incorporates artificial intelligence (“AI”) and machine-learning in its operating system, which allows customers to interact withand manage their home from anywhere via the Vivint app on their smart device. Vivint Smart Home provides a customized solution for the home using integrated smart cameras (indoor, outdoor and doorbell), locks, lights, thermostats, garage doorcontrols and a host of other safety and security sensors. …As of December 31, 2025, Vivint Smart Home’s cloud-based homeplatform supported more than 37 million connected in-home devices, representing an average of approximately 16 devices per household…

From nothing to $52 million in OOH spending in one year.

Vivint spending increased from $150,581 in 2024 to $53 million in 2025.  That’s not a typo.   A $52 million increase in a single year!  Dallin Anderson is the company’s Chief Marketing Officer.  Vivint’s agency is Known.is.  We suspect that much of the 2025 increase was programmatic due the size of the buy as well as the fact that Vivint’s agency is heavy in tech and ai.

What the ads look like.

The Vivint ads are to be aimed at building visibility and recall and at generating leads.  They make clever use of a humor.    Here are some of the ads which copywriter Jess Bossin of Cargo Collective has designed.

  1. This is a perfect example of how companies can build a big brand with these assets! I’ve heard they also have sales teams that go door to door. No better way to prove your companies credibility when a sales agent knocks on your door to discuss your homes safety.
