Corporate Attorney
Based in Norman, Oklahoma
The Corporate Attorney serves as in-house legal counsel responsible for supporting and protecting the company’s legal interests across all aspects of its outdoor advertising operations. This role provides practical, business oriented legal advice on litigation, regulatory compliance, real estate and leasing, contracts, and corporate governance matters.
The corporate attorney partners closely with executive leadership and cross functional teams including Real Estate, Operations, Finance, and HR to proactively identify and mitigate risk, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and support the company’s strategic growth and development initiatives.
This position includes direct supervisory responsibility for the Legal Manager, providing guidance, oversight, and development to ensure effective execution of litigation management, claims, and compliance functions.
- Provide legal counsel on commercial transactions, real estate, operations, and regulatory compliance
- Manage litigation, claims, and outside counsel, including strategy, oversight, and budgets
- Review and negotiate contracts (leases, vendor agreements, NDAs, acquisitions)
- Advise on zoning, land use, permitting, and signage regulations
- Support real estate matters, including leases, disputes, and property rights
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, and development projects, including due diligence
- Oversee corporate governance, entity compliance, and filings
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and compliance programs
- Support discovery processes, legal holds, and coordination with internal teams
- Provide risk assessments and updates to executive leadership
- Conduct legal research and monitor emerging risks
- Supervise and mentor legal staff while delegating day-to-day tasks
Education & Experience
- JD from an accredited law school; active U.S. bar license (multi-state preferred)
- 6–10+ years of experience (in-house or law firm) in corporate, litigation, or real estate matters
- Experience managing litigation and outside counsel
- Industry experience in real estate, land use, construction, utilities, telecom, or outdoor advertising preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of contracts, litigation, compliance, and real estate law
- Solid understanding of corporate governance and entity management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools
- Sound business judgment with practical, solution-oriented approach
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration, discretion, and ethical judgment
- Proven negotiation, problem-solving, and risk assessment abilities
