Good news if you have a roadside billboard plant.  Vehicle miles traveled was up 0.7% for April 2026 and is up 1.2% for the first four months of 2026.  The increased was the most pronounced in the North Central states and South Atlantic States.  Miles travel declined in the West in April 2026.  Here’s the April 2026 Traffic Volume Trends Summary.

The good news also applies to transit.  US transit trips were up 1.1% for the first quarter of  2026.  Heavy Rail increased 4.8%, light rail increased 3.9% but bus trips declined 2%.  here’s the American Public Transportation Association data.
