Why you should attend the 2026 OOH MediaCon in Dallas

The 2026 OOH MediaCon is coming up May 11-13, 2026 in Dallas.  Billboard Insider will attend and moderate a panel on AI and out of home on Monday May 11.  We asked Olivia Oshry the Chief Marketing Officer at OAAA to talk about what makes the conference a must-attend event.

Olivia Oshry, Chief Marketing Officer, OAAA

How is the conference shaping up?

Bigger and better.  We’re in Dallas, which brings its own energy. We open with John Morgan as our keynote. His law firm was the number two out-of-home spender in 2025, and his team has been a genuine pleasure to work with—they’re excited about the medium. Beyond John, we have involvement from the Dallas Cowboys and the CMO of FIFA Dallas. The conference theme ties directly to the positioning work OAAA has been developing—around out-of-home as a human medium.

Nice to see there will be an Independent Summit on the first day of the conference.

The inaugural Independent Summit last year was bigger than anyone anticipated. We didn’t have enough chairs. We ran out of space. So we know the demand is real, and we’re building on that this year. The agenda for the Independent Summit was created by the OAAA’s Independent Advisory Council, chaired by Diana Stevenson.

What topics will be covered?

We’re covering the full range of what an independent operator cares about. Paul Kultgen will lead a session on turning measurement into market momentum. There’s a session on AI and how it applies to independent operators. There’s a session on earning client commitment to creativity. Max Drachman will lead a session on OOH Mergers and Acquisitions.

The conference provides a great networking opportunity.

Networking is probably the feedback we hear about most consistently from attendees—it’s essential, and carving out dedicated time for it is non-negotiable. At any given point you could learn something new, meet someone new, discover a new product or vendor. Those serendipitous hallway conversations and welcome reception connections—those are often what people remember most. We structure everything to make those moments happen.

The out of home CEO panel is a must attend.

Yes, the CEO panel closes out the conference, and it’s always a highlight. This year you’ll have the CEOs of Lamar, Outfront, and Clear Channel Outdoor on stage. What makes that session work is that these are competitors who also understand they have to collaborate to move the industry forward. I think it’s one of the things that makes the out-of-home industry unique—the ability to compete fiercely and still come together like that.

What other sessions are you excited about?

There’s a session I’m really proud of that I think is going to surprise people. Intersection will moderate a panel with the chief marketing officers from Lamar, Outfront and Clear Channel Outdoor. When we did the prep session, we couldn’t stop the conversation. I think people are going to learn a lot from that session.
