Rothfelder Opines on the New Billboard Law Book

We are one month in with Rothfelder & Falick on Billboard Law.  Richard and I reflected on how the book has done to date.

Richard Rothfelder, Partner, Rothfelder Falick

Richard, are you surprised by how well the book has done in its first month of sales?

Ha! Well, no, since Dave and you get most of the profits from the book, it figures that I wouldn’t benefit financially, despite this sales success. But, seriously, I’m glad to see the book has been so well received, by Billboard Insider readers, clients, and OOH operators in general. Next time, however, we’ll discuss a better sharing of the royalties.

Looking through the list, are you getting a sense of who the early buyers are?

Yes, I recognize most on the list as OOH operators, including those in real estate, leasing, advertising sales, asset acquisitions, and management. Many clients and IBO members have purchased the book as well. There are even several attorneys on the list, so I’m looking forward to receiving plenty of helpful feedback on my legal analysis.

The book is not inexpensive. Why is it worth the investment?

You’re right, the book isn’t cheap, but neither are legal services. Indeed, I expect many readers will actually save on attorney’s fees by resorting to the book before consulting their attorney, especially in using the forms and instructions for leases, easements, and asset purchase agreements included in the book.
