Today Billboard Insider announced that Adams Outdoor had purchased Bullfrog Outdoor.  Bullfrog Outdoor was founded 28 years ago by Charlie MacIntyre, who is a legend in the independent out of home advertising community.  We called Charlie to learn more about the sale.

Thanks for the kind words…I always enjoy your conversations and feel like I learn quite a bit from you.  It has been quite a ride.

What led to the sale?

Bullfrog Outdoor has been in existence for 28 years. Growing slow and steady as a One-Man show. The strategy was to sell Bullfrog to my sons. They have other plans and I must respect their wishes. There are a quite a few headwinds in the market currently and it was time.  As long as I have been in IBO it has always been fun to guess what your plant is worth. I received the number that I earned and Adam’s Outdoor receives a wonderful plant filled with monopoles, digital displays and legal non-conforming structures that were built around the same time that I was born…Oh yeah, and I got an offer that I couldn’t refuse!!!!

What’s next?

Get some sleep, lol.   It is a very intense time before the sale preparing all of the due diligence materials. Becky Smith was a real pro in supporting my efforts. Fortunately , I was organized and had all of my contracts and leases in order. All of my INDOT and MDOT permits were ready to transfer and the sale went smoothly.  I see Charlie Bullfrog spending time at the beach, on the water and attending concerts and hopefully living long enough to enjoy the spoils. It has been quite a ride!!

Charlie tells Billboard Insider he will attend the 2025 IBO New Orleans spring show to bid goodbye to his friends.  Be sure to shake his hand and congratulate him when you see him there.
