With GenLogs You can make Money While Fighting Cargo Theft and Human Trafficking

In the Out-of-Home world, a billboard is usually valued for what people see on it. But for GenLogs, the value lies in what the billboard sees. Just two years ago, we reported on GenLogs’ innovative model of renting space on billboard structures to house its “Trident” sensors. What began as a modest secondary revenue stream for operators, has matured into the backbone of a nationwide mission to strengthen America’s supply chains and enhance public safety.  For billboard owners, hosting even a single sensor means becoming an essential player in a network that has already collected nearly 3 billion images and been part of over 500 free investigations into fraud and theft.

Real Wins Against Human Trafficking

Recently, the network played a direct role in the recovery of a minor who was being sex trafficked from Oklahoma to the East Coast. Thanks to the visibility enabled by OOH operators in the South and Southeast, law enforcement was able to intercept the operation in South Carolina and bring the child to safety. In another instance, a serial trafficker was discovered to be operating in Texas and federal investigators utilized the GenLogs platform to identify specialized equipment and assets which proved to be the critical evidence needed for investigators to “get on the scent” and build their case. And finally, a commercial vehicle in Washington was linked to multiple attempted kidnappings of vulnerable minors in the Pacific Northwest. Local law enforcement reached out to GenLogs for the vital assistance needed to rapidly identify the suspect’s vehicle.

The War on Cargo Theft and Fraud

Beyond trafficking, freight fraud has evolved from an industry nuisance into a $30 billion annual scourge that drives up prices for every consumer. High-profile heists—like the scheme that diverted $1 million of Guy Fieri’s tequila or the logistics fraud that led to the theft of Shaquille O’Neal’s custom Range Rover—have put cargo security in the national spotlight.

The OOH industry is now helping “ground truth” break these cases. Over the last half of 2025, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department built a case to take down one of the largest active fraud rings in the country (see: Singh Cargo Theft Ring). Law enforcement confirmed that the GenLogs platform – and the sensors installed on billboard properties – were vital technical tools used to crack the case.
