More readers on nudging OOH clients to pay electronically

Greg Hicks, Hicks Outdoor Advertising

We’ve received a couple more comments on how to encourage your clients to switch to electronic payment of their out of home bills.

Hicks Outdoor President Greg Hicks tells Billboard Insider that he’s reduced AR by 70% by automating payments

Our automated recurring system offers ALL payment methods and we let them know if they pay by check their account will be slower to show the credit. We don’t charge credit card fees. This encourages quick payment. If they do pay by check we use a check scanner for remote deposits.  We use ChargeOver.

We have reduced our outstanding AR by 70%

Franklin Outdoor CEO Dan Franklin says credit card fees provide an incentive for clients to switch to ACH.

When we told all our clients we were going to start to charge credit card fees, we included our ach paperwork and told them they could pay by ach with no fees. We converted probably 2/3 of our credit card clients to ach that way.

We are actively trying to switch landowners and vendors over to ach as well. It saves on costs between the physical check cost, mail, and envelope. It also reduces the possibility of fraud.
