On page 24 of the River Oaks Capital H2 2024 report, portfolio manager Whit Huguley says there are four ways to make money in the out of home business.
- Acquire a poorly managed billboard company and come in and cut costs & properly
manage the company. - Easement purchases – pay a one-time lump sum payment to the land owner where the
billboard is located in exchange for never paying a lease again. - Digital conversions – convert a ‘static’ billboard to a digital face billboard showing up to
8 advertisements. - Build a “new” billboard – in some locations if you take down one of your old billboards
you can build a new one in a more profitable location.
