Natalie Kessler On The Difference Between Digital and Static Billboards

Natalie Kessler of K2 Media was interviewed recently by the Destin Business Forum.  Kessler did a great job describing the out of home business.  Here are some of her answers to questions.

Nancy, what’s better: traditional billboards or digital?

It depends on a businesses goals. A traditional billboard works really good for a business that has one consistent message to deliver over a period of 90 days.  This is who we are.  This is how to find us.  A regular billboard gets this done.  On the other hand a digital billboard gives you a lot more flexibility.  If you are a business advertising multiple services or if you’re seasonal and want to change your message a digital billboard allows you to be creative.

How quickly can you change your digital ad?

We can change an ad instanteously via the internet.    I tell my clients to expect 1-2 day turnaround on creative.  We normally build a bank of ads so we can rotate ads throught a campaign.  For example, a restaurant might have one ad during mornings, one ad at lunch…

Is billboard advertising expensive?

No.  When I sit down with customers I hear “I didn’t think it would be this affordable.”  If you don’t have a huge corporate marketing budget we can still make it work.

Insider’s take:  Nice job Natalie.  Never pass up a chance to tell your story at a Chamber forum or to the newspaper or at a Rotary Club meeting.  Many people would rather hear or watch than read and this allows you to reach them.
