Florence, SC – Adams Outdoor Advertising (“Adams”) is pleased to announce that it has acquired all of Cook Brothers Corporation’s (“Cook Brothers”) billboard assets as of September 19, 2024. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Brothers Mike, Bill, Lawrence, and George Cook founded Cook Brothers as a property development company in Lumberton, North Carolina in 1996. After the brothers were unable to come to terms on a renewal lease agreement for a billboard owned by a third‐party on property owned by Cook Brothers, the brothers decided to terminate the tenancy of that third‐party and enter the billboard business for themselves. Thus, in 1999, Cook Brothers installed its first billboard along I‐95 in Dillon County, South Carolina. Over the next several years, Cook Brothers built and permitted 8 additional structures, for a total of 17 faces along that same stretch of I‐95, all on property owned by Cook Brothers in Dillon County.
By acquiring these exceptional assets from Cook Brothers, Adams expands its out‐of‐home coverage in a rapidly growing area of South Carolina. Jon Weiss, General Manager of Adams’ Florence, South Carolina Market, describes the Cook Brothers’ assets as “extremely well‐built 14’ x 48’ bulletins, low to the ground, with exceptional visibility; indeed, these are the best assets between Dillon and Florence on I‐95.”
