Lehigh Valley Live reports that the city of Easton, PA is forfeiting $500,000 in billboard rent as part of a legal settlement with Pennsylvania Media. Pennsylvania Media sued the city in August 2014 claiming that the city allowed Adams Outdoor to put up a digital sign on city owned land but wrote the rules in a way which forbid Pennsylvania Media to put up its own digital sign. Under the settlement Pennsylvania Media will be given a 10 year rent free lease for a billboard on city owned property at its wastewater plant. The foregone rent is $400,000-$500,000. Pennsylvania Media has sold the billboard erection rights to Adams Outdoor.
