On April 29, 2024, Vistar announced the purchase of ADstruc from PJX Media. Billboard Insider asked Vistar CEO and Co-Founder Michael Provenzano to discuss the transaction.
Michael, why did Vistar buy ADstruc
ADstruc is a software asset used by agencies and media owners. It’s a battle tested product. We kept hearing from our clients “we love programmatic but want help with the traditional business RFP and negotiations”…We started building static planning software, but we also had the option to partner or buy. We looked at all the options in the market ADstuc was the most liked software asset….Buying was interesting to me because I didn’t want to reinvent the wheel. I didn’t want to build from scratch.
How’s the transition going.
The deal closed Monday April 29. We will keep the ADstruc name for the time being. Our new release will be June 1. The immediate focus is onboarding clients. We have a backlog of clients who want it. A lot of people say “are you becoming an agency?” No; we will continue to be exclusively a technology provider. We took 3 engineers and 1 account person to work the software. We’ve added them to our 240 person team.
