People continue to drive more which bodes well for roadside bulletins and posters.  Here are the highlights from  the FHWA December 2023 Traffic Volume Trends.

• Vehicle miles travelled increased by 2.2% in December 2023 versus December 2022.
• During December 2023 traffic rose in all areas of the country except the South-Atlantic region in which vehicle miles travelled declined by 0.2%.
• Cumulative vehicle miles travelled for the full year 2023 increased 2.1% versus the full year 2022.  Vehicle miles travelled not exceed miles travelled in 2019, the year in which covid appeared during November.
