5 Things About Billboard Imprints

A reader asked Insider about billboard imprints  – the metal plates which you put up on a billboard to identify it as yours.  Here are Insider’s thoughts.

Imprints are great advertising.

What store fails to put up a sign?  Billboards are your store.  Put up a sign.  Imprints are cheap.  See related story by Tiffin Metal on Imprints.   You can have your crews install the imprint when they change vinyl.

Use Big Letters.

Insider initially ordered imprints which said “www.Circlecityoutdoor.net”.  That’s too many letters.  They were too small to read.  The next batch said “Circle City”.  People see the nameplates, look us up on the internet and give us a call.

This nameplate is too small to be readable.

A bigger readable nameplate

Use your corporate colors.

Lamar’s nameplates are white on a green background, Outfront Media’s nameplates are white on a purple background, Fairway’s nameplates are white on a red background…

Backlit or not?

Backlit nameplates use rear internal illumination to make a nameplate visible at night.  They use high end LED modules with a guaranteed life of 50,000 hours.  See Chris Adams on Backlit Imprints for more details.
