Insider caught up with the very busy Founder and President of Invision, Nicole Walker for a discussion on the business.

Nicole, tell us about your background and what led you to starting Invision Outdoor?

I’ve spent over 25 years in the advertising world—first as a Media Director, working with major brands like NBC Universal and Audi, and then jumping into sales for several years. After working both sides of the fence, I realized that there was a real need for more personal, creative approaches in outdoor advertising. So, in August 2023, I took the plunge and launched Invision Outdoor. My goal was simple: combine my experience, passion for creativity, and love of New York City to bring something fresh to the outdoor media space.

Can you bring us up to date on your current inventory?

We have 30 prime locations across NYC—from the classic SoHo and Midtown areas, to trendy neighborhoods of Williamsburg and Bushwick and up-and-coming spots like Long Island City. We specialize in wallscapes and bulletins, and what really sets us apart is that 13 of our units can be hand-painted. It’s a blend of big-city exposure with an artistic touch. Perfect for brands that want to make a statement and not just blend in with the crowd.

What’s it like working in the New York market? 

New York City is an incredibly dynamic and competitive market, which makes it both exhilarating and challenging to navigate. With the city’s diverse and constantly shifting audience, standing out requires constant innovation. We’re lucky to be in a market where outdoor advertising is not only a key element of urban life but also a cultural touchpoint. At Invision, we’re able to tap into this energy and offer brands highly personalized, creative solutions that resonate with the city’s diverse populations. Whether it’s with strategic placements in iconic neighborhoods or through innovative formats like hand-painted murals, we’re committed to ensuring our clients leave a lasting impression.

Do you have a project or campaign you are especially proud of?

Hands down, I’m most proud of our Hand-Painted Mural Network. We’ve turned 13 wallscapes into one-of-a-kind pieces of art across NYC. Not only does it make people stop and stare, but it also brings a personal touch that you can’t get with digital. The response has been incredible—it’s like outdoor advertising with a soul.

What are your goals for this new year?

This year, I’m incredibly excited about expanding our footprint and continuing to offer a more personalized, creative approach to outdoor advertising. We’re growing our inventory in key NYC neighborhoods and expanding our hand-painted mural network—something that truly sets us apart. We’re also looking forward to collaborating with a wider variety of clients and leveraging our industry expertise to push the boundaries of what out-of-home advertising can be.
