“We’ve got a fair amount of vinyls torn up and have lost a couple of structures from what we have been able to get to. So far we are very blessed to have only lost a couple.”
“Capital was extremely fortunate, especially with the original forecast! We pulled about 100 faces in 4 days prior to the change of direction but don’t regret any efforts. So far have about 10 faces with damage but no structure lost. About 20 vinyls to replace. Again we’re lucky. I have been through many in 42 years in the billboard business, I have never seen the widespread devastation of wind and water. More flooding to come. Keep praying!!”
Grey Vick at Grey Outdoor provides the following update:
“Everyone is ok and safe. Our home was spared in Wilmington as a tree barely missed it and landed in our yard. As for the signs, as of now it is more unknown than anything. Landowners and contractors, friends, and other contacts are helping to update us when they see the signs. I know of two structures blown down partially and 4-5 other vinyls blown out. We can’t get to all the signs yet because of flooding.”
This is taken at our home in Wilmington. We got lucky, but a lot of people didn’t and from what I hear it is really bad in Wilmington right now.
