Protecting Wood Structures From a Hurricane.

Projected path of hurricane florence

Hurricane Florence is headed for the Carolina’s with an expected landfall Thursday.  Yesterday, Yesterday,  Grey Vick of Grey Outdoor discussed what he’s doing to prepare his North Carolina plant for the storm.

Dan Divine, the owner of Florida’s Divine Outdoor, gives Insider this advice on protecting stick builds from a hurricane:

Protect your lower HAGL wood structures by renting UHAUL or similar box trucks and parking them on either side of your structure. I did that here in central Florida in 2004 to protect my structures from Hurricane Charley’s reign of terror that literally leveled 90 % of stick builds in harm’s way. Much cheaper than removing and reinstalling vinyl’s, or replacing just one broken pole.Best of luck to our fellow operators on the east coast!
