Ogilvy’s Five Tips for Designing Billboards

IMG_0338Insider has written previously about Ogilvy on Advertising and Why Ogilvy Was Wrong About Billboards.  In our third and last post about on Ogilvy we highlight his five tips for designing billboards for maximum effect.

  • Make your billboard “a visual scandal” but don’t overdue the scandal or you will stop traffic and cause accidents.
  • Use a picture.
  • Use large type.
  • Strong, pure colors.
  • No more than three elements in your design.
