Last week Insider talked about non-profits as a revenue source. Wisconsin non-profit “Be Amazing” has purchased 5 Lamar billboards in Wausau, Wisconsin to spread the word about the group.

Out of home executive Arthur Donaldson, Sr. died earlier this month.  Donaldson entered the out of home business in 1956.  He founded and operated Janesville Outdoor and Vivid signs before selling to Lamar in 1999.

Bloomberg had an article last week titled Google’s Targeted Ads Are Coming to a Billboard Near You.  Alphabet is considering a German project to provide out of home advertising to digital signs in shopping centers, shop windows and transit stations.  It wasn’t Google but this sentence in the article which caught Insider’s eye: “automation of digital billboard purchasing could boost earning at JCDecaux SA and Stroeer SE by as much as 66%.”  Insider note to self: find out who came up with the estimate and how it was calculated.
