Mobile-Optimize Your Out of Home Website

Is your out of home advertising website mobile-optimized?  The answer is no for half of the out of home websites Insider analyzes.  This a major problem because 58% of web searches are done on mobile devices.  Many of you are reading this post on your smartphone.   A website which is not mobile optimized will have text too small and links too close together.  Customers and agencies will have a hard time finding info on your signs.

There are two ways to test if your site is mobile optimized.

  • Pull up your website on your smartphone to see if it looks ok.  A mobile-optimized website will run in a simpler, larger print version on small screens.
  • Use Google’s free mobile friendly website test tool.  Type your website into the tool and it will tell you whether the site is mobile friendly and show what it looks like on mobile phones.

Hoe do you fix a site which needs to be mobile optimized?

  •  If you are using wordpress switch your site to a theme which has built in mobile-optimization.  Most themes do.
  •  If you use a webmaster ask for the site to be mobile-optimized.
